Travel Questions about going to Hawaii by myself on January. How to prepare it ? ?

I am going to plan an individual travel to Hawaii on January. I want to ask where are the most popular scenic spots should i go? And what kinds of transport is more convenient in Hawaii?

1. Well mount honolou lou is fab and are you flying via LA or SF ??? i live in LA so its not that far !!! its brill have a good time
2. What Island are you going to? Maui is beautiful and a little less touristy. Mount Haleakala is something everyone should experience. If you get up early enough and drive to the top, you can watch the sunrise beneath you! Breathtaking. And you should try surfing lessons in Lahaina. Oahu is incredible if you want to do the Dole Plantation (pineapple ice cream- yum!). There's also Matsumoto's famous shave ice. The best! Waikiki is a great place to blow whatever cash you may have saved for the trip. And the USS Arizona Memorial is an experience you shouldn't miss if you're there. There's a lot of hiking spots with incredible waterfalls, just be careful. Make sure you have the right shoes! And be prepared to spend a lot of money very quickly. Everything is ridiculously expensive over there. It really is paradise, though! Have fun!

Island by island: Hawaii Island (big island) of coarse the volcanos are popular as well as the zoo. maui-haleakala Molokai-kalaupapa Lanai-hhhmmm nothing really Oahu-choke places. i suggest not going to waikiki due to the amount of tourists. if you really want to soak in hawaii, go to the landmarks (iolani palace, kamehameha statue, punchbowl, hanauma bay, pearl harbor). also if you plan to go to the beach, DO NOT go to queens by kapiolani park. to many tourists are there. i suggest sandy beach, walls, or waimea bay if your brave enough to hit up 30 ft. surf waves
